How the board of the day is chosen
Cubo takes the year, month and day in UTC, mixes them into a single number, and hands that number to the same generator that builds every other board. The generator is deterministic: the same number always produces the same box and the same pieces.
That is why the daily is identical for every player and why it costs nothing to deliver. There is no daily download, no server that can be down, and no reason for the puzzle to be missing when you have no signal.

The days are counted in UTC, so the boundary is the same instant for everyone. If you play late in the evening in a time zone well ahead of UTC, the day the streak records can be the one before the date on your phone.
Where you see it
- A streak badge under the Cubo wordmark on the home screen, with a flame and the current number.
- The Daily row itself, which repeats the streak next to the label so you know what is at stake before you start.
What the streak does not do
Nothing is locked behind it. There are no rewards to lose, no lives, no currency and no leaderboard, so a broken streak costs exactly the number and nothing else. If a counter is not a motivation you enjoy, Relaxed mode ignores it entirely.

Does everyone get the same daily puzzle?
Yes. The board is derived from the calendar date rather than picked at random, so two players on the same date get the same box, the same pieces and the same solution to find.
When does the daily puzzle change?
At midnight UTC. Cubo reads the date in UTC rather than in your local time zone, so the rollover happens at the same moment worldwide and not at your own midnight.
How does the streak count?
Solving the daily on a date that is exactly one day after your last solved daily raises the streak by one. Solving it twice on the same date changes nothing. Any other gap, including your first ever daily, sets the streak to one.
Does the streak break if I skip a day?
Yes. A missed day is a gap of more than one day, so the next daily you solve starts the count again at one. Nothing else in the game is locked behind the streak.
Does the daily puzzle need a connection?
No. Because the board comes from the date rather than a download, the daily works in airplane mode and the streak is counted on the device.
Which difficulty is the daily puzzle?
The one selected on the home screen. The date decides which board is generated and the difficulty picker decides how large the box is, so you can take the same day at Easy or at Hard.
